Kedarnath Yatra Trip Plan

 Kedarnath is located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand ,India.. It is famous because of the Kedarnath Temple located over there. It is one  among the chardham . The people who visit there says it's the heaven in earth. Loard Shiva is worshiped there.  Kedarnath Temple is on the Garhwal Himalayan range near the Mandakini river. 

Due to the extreme weather condition the temple is open for only limited period of time from the months of April to  November. During winter the temple is close and the deity of Lord Shiva is carried down to Ukhimath and worshiped there for next six months of winter.Due the heavy snow the temple is closed.

How to reach Kedarnath:

If you are planning to start your trip from Delhi .You can go to Rishikesh and from their to Sonprayag by any vehicle. At Sonprayag check post the police will check the medical certificate and registration card. If you are going by Trek than you will get jeeps up to Gaurikund which is 5km from Sonprayag. 

 The vehicles are not allowed from Gaurikund , the trek to kedarnath temple starts from Gaurikund. The trek is about 16 km and you can go by either helicopter and by pittu's also.

The tourist can stay there overnight in Camps and cottages. There are also small hotels which are safe to stay in Kedarnath.
